About Temple Music Studio

Temple Music Studio is hidden in a leafy residential street in Sutton, a short ride south of London. Opened in 1983, the studio has produced countless recordings in every style from Punk to Classical, Jazz to Heavy Metal. The studio is owned by saxophonist and composer Barbara Thompson MBE.

Although built to a relatively small scale (by the standards of the time) the facilities have always been on a par with much larger studios. The 90 square metre recording space is a LEDE design, with no parallel walls, multi-section floating floor and ‘revolving wall’ variable acoustics.

The studio floor has natural light and an airy natural sound ideal for all genres and includes two isolation booths.

The control room is also purpose built with no parallel walls. It has direct access to the studio floor and an excellent “face forward” view of the recording area.

“We are happy to record a solo performer, a band or an ensemble and we have the technical resources to handle projects of any size.”
